Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
took piano lessons as a young child, played trumpet and guitar later on, and have been working with electronics since 2001.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do both original and live DJ sets. The goals for each are different, so I'll focus here on original live sets. I generally perform live in SuperCollider, which input from hardware / acoustic instruments. My SuperCollider patches for live performance aim to be conducive to improvisation - I'd never like to play the same set twice.
I've confronted all range of crowds - sometimes what I'm doing resonates, sometimes people are just turned off in general by the concept of a laptop as an instrument. I've particularly enjoyed performing in the thriving DIY show scene in Portland when I'm there.
