DesolatioN are an epic melodic black metal band from the UK. A true description of their sound is not easy to encapsulate due to the bands enigmatic and high quality musicianship, but could be likened to darker elements of In Flames, Dark Tranquility etc... with aspects of Emperor.

MELODIOUS MALICE WITH IDEAS TO SPARE
DEATH METAL’S melodic contingent have become so
polished in recent years that it’s easy to forget how
abrasive and edgy bands like Dark Tranquillity sounded
when they first emerged from the Swedish underground.
Whether through sheer bloody-mindedness or financial
necessity, Desolation are clearly trying to transport
us back to those heady days when an intuitive,
wide-eyed rawness and a healthy obsession with
Maiden-like guitar harmonies drove this genre along.
The inspired melodic breakdowns and snatched glimpses
of acoustic frailty that pepper ‘The Real Of The
Witching Moon’ and ‘Blindsight’ suggest that the
band’s progressive instincts will ensure a swift rise
to prominence.
