Derek Protopapas is a bright young singer/songwriter from Columbus, OH. He is currently a student at Capital University in Bexley, where he is majoring in Marketing and minoring in Economics. He is currently a solo-artist but loves getting together with other creative musicians. Altogether he has written over 30 songs and is currently working on over 30 unfinished songs. He loves performing in front of people and loves sharing what he feels in this life with all those who are willing to listen.Have you performed in front of an audience?I play around at various different open mic nights or coffee shops. Once I find some talented musicians that blend well with my music, I plan on starting a band and doing everything it takes to make it.

I can appreciate any form of music, the various chord progressions, and the feelings of the author. I draw inspiration from just about any song I listen to on the radio or from anywhere.

I record mostly by myself using a program on my computer called Cakewalk. My guitar is a Larive 6-string, but I also use an Ovation 12-string and a Fender Stratocaster.Anything else?

The two new songs are great. I really like the new direction your writing seems to be headed. As always, the old stuff is classic, and will never be replaced in my playlist. Keep it up, and know that your fans worship you. (haha!!!)
Well, surprise, surprise, I'm posting another lovely message. I'm glad to see that you posted "3 Wise Guys" on here.. seeing as how you started writing it in MY shower.. haha. The three new songs really show your progression as a song writer. I'm so proud of how far you've come since freshman year. Your songs have taken on a whole new life. Keep it up!!
Hmm.. it looks like no one else has taken the time to sign your little message board. That's alright though, no one else takes the time to listen to your song(s) every day either. Haha! Okay, that's not true0 You rock, and I'm sure people listen to you every day.
You need to get on putting more songs on here for people to download. I mean, I've heard all of them, and they're all stupendous. I think you should put all 30+ songs on here. :-) That would make me smile. Then again, if you don't, I still have one up on all of these people. I get to hear you sing, live and in person, any time I want to. Sucks to be the rest of you!

Derek is so hot right now.. haha! Seriously though, he's the greatest musician I've ever met. I can say that because I've been one of his biggest fans since the beginning. He can really belt out a tune, and has the ability to convey a range of emotions with just music. Combine his lyricism and musicianship and you've got one tremendous Greek package.
Keep doing your thing Derek. I know that you'll be great some day, and even if you never get signed, we'll always be supporting you (and singing your songs .. badly .. haha!!). Much love. Keep rocking out for your DTU brothers and this Zeta girl. Love you!
