Has produced and release records with Grammy winners Joe "The Butcher" Nicolo of Judgement/RKO Entertainment - formerly RuffHouse/Columbia Records and Michael "Bass" McCary of Boyz II Men. Former solo artist on RuffHouse/Contract Recordings...subsidiary of RuffHouse/Columbia. Co-wrote and produced "REAL LOVE"...for Keith Martin -former solo artist on Columbia/Sony Music album release "It's Long Overdue"...1995.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
BIOGRAPHY DENNIS WALTERS - hails from Philadelphia, PA. He began his singing and acting career while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces (Air Force). Dennis is an outstanding music writer/producer and singer. He fine-tuned his gifted abilities through national competitions, variety productions and four years formal training at the Broadway Academy of Performing Arts School in Sacramento California. His sultry voice and outstanding stage presents has enabled him to shine in every capacity of performance. Dennis’ writing and production credits include and R&B single entitled “Do U” released regional (1993) - under his own label Vision Records, Inc., of which he is the CEO; also a national theme song for missing children entitled, “MISSING CHILDREN”. Missing Children (CD)gained national media attention and coverage on INSIDE EDITION, A CURRENT AFFAIR, HARD COPY AND CNN, all major news networks such as: channels (6), (10), (3)- newspapers and other associated press venues. The music to Missing Children has been selected by Philadelphia’s own WDAS, as theme music for several Public Service Announcements such as: Aids Awareness, Foster Care and Child Safety. His credits further include full writer and production credits on an album released on Columbia/Sony Music’s artist Keith Martin that earned sales of approximately 200,000 copies. Dennis has worked with artists of the Philadelphia region such as: Michael McCary of (Boyz II Men), John Oats, Joe Nicolo (the former RuffHouse/Columbia Records, Conshohocken), Gene McFadden and John Whitehead, and Carvin Haggins (Dennis’ nephew) who has produced various artist Will Smith, Jill Scott, Musiq, Kenny Lattimore, Cisqo and Michael Jackson. Dennis’ talent takes him even futher into the realm of acting. He has appeared in numerous stage shows, Broadway productions, operas, television commercials and feature films such as: Boomerang and American Me. Dennis has also won four times at Amateur Night at the Apollo. Dennis has also recently authored and published his first book on- line @ Barnes& Nobels.com*entitled: “The Light of Life’s Darkened Steps” - a spiritual therapeutic approach to healing and refocusing dysfunction families. Dennis' reach out ministries include “The Word of Vision Ministries”, which is a ministry of helps in areas of financial assistance as well as prayer outreach, on-line, to families in need world-wide. His other ministries include a business in Christian marriage and family counseling and a radio sermon broadcast to Africa through Radio Africa Broadcasting. Dennis prides himself in the entertainment industry and strives for nothing less than excellence. God has blessed him with many talents and he plans to use them to the utmost of his abilities.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I sing occassionally live now. Special moments were singing live at the Apollo in New York and a brief stint with the New LTD group in 1998....formed by Greg Hennigan of D.C.
