DeMo - Gifted Hands Productions
Music is a funny thing. You begin with bits and pieces of sound - notes, samples, words - and somehow, from some divine inspiration, these bits and pieces come together to form a complete body of work. I didn't totally understand that concept - even as an artist - until I met DeMo in person and we spent some time in the studio. It was there that I saw his creative process in action for the first time. Before that point I had only been privy to the finished products, not understanding the how or why of the arrangement of sounds.
Observing the movement from a set of sounds - whether samples or notes - to a complete instrumental is almost like watching a tree grow. It begins with a seed - an idea - that eventually grows limbs that reach in all different directions and touch many different people in many different ways. The roots beneath the surface get life from jazz, rock, classical, country, pop, reggae, soul, blues, and several other genres of music from the past and present.
I am honored and blessed to have been able to work with DeMo on such an involved level. His creativity and work ethic are inspiring. Trust me when I say you won't find many artists - yes, I say artist because he's more than a producer, he creates records! - who consistently make music like his and maintain such drive, passion, and humility.
