"The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul."
-Johann Sebastian BachBand/artist history
Before Deep Water Soniq. Before I knew anything about music in general, let alone even considered it a serious career option, I was a tinkering with sound recording programs as well as playing with a
keyboard that sat in my house as a hobby.
At first I considered doing programming for a living. However after pursuing that for a short time, God helped me realize that I should be pursuing music instead of just writing software. I had fun working with programs like FL Studio making my own music and slowly began to utilize new methods of producing music as my knowledge increased. Eventually I decided that I should pursue a degree in music technology and ultimately a career producing music.
With a new goals set in my mind I eventually decided that a new solo project was in order. One day I heard a Passage read at mass. I came to recognize part of it as Luke 5:4. This passage spoke to me in a personal way and thus began what was to become Deep Water Soniq.
My sincerest hope is that my music, the projects that I'm currently involved in and any future projects will inspire others to follow Christ, the source of all creative energy.Have you performed in front of an audience? At the moment I don't play live but may pursue this in the future. One possibility I'm considering at this time is possibly playing for Creationfest in the future.
Your musical influences
I have a lot of different music influences in many different genres. However, primarily I listen to a lot of electronic music. I've music from bands like Yello, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, some Fatboy Slim, MLFG(My Life for God), Prodigy, M83, Kraftwerk, etc. I also listen to a lot of contemporary christian music.
I tend to keep an open ear as long as it has a positive message and is musically well crafted. What equipment do you use?
Right now (as of 3/29/2007) I have a Roland MC-808, Alesis Fusion 8HD, and Pro Tools Le System. However, my gear setup has changed over time and might in the future.Anything else?
