My name is Derek and this is my one man band called Deek V. I wrote and played all these songs myself. Enjoy.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I used to be in a band called Metric Ton of Styrofoam, but we fell apart due to time management issues. So I've used my desktop and some really crappy equipment to create something that is the lowest of fidelities.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I haven't found a local venue for live music.
Your musical influences
I have so many favorite artists that it's not even funny. Ones that have influenced me musically would be The Beatles (of course), Ben Folds Five, Weezer, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Nirvana, and They Might Be Giants.
What equipment do you use?
I use a five dollar microphone, a freeware recording software, a couple of second-hand guitars, a Casio, and beats made on said Casio.
