take me away was more of an epic power rock ballad than a blues tune, but whatever it is, i liked it.

Hi there,
Wanted to stop by your page and thank you for the kind and empathetic words you wrote about me in Paul's thread about the Internet hoax situation I was thrust into this past year. Nice of you to write what you did and take the time to comment.
I'm listening to you very heartfelt sounding track "Take Me Away" as I write and really enjoying it. Love the change in dynamics - tender in verses and very dramatic and power driven in the the choruses. Great voice you have, too! Wonderful job all around...
Happy Holidays to you and yours,
xo Lynn Carey Saylor

Thanks ORPLID, for giving "Take Me Away" a good listen. Rusty writes and plays with a great sense of emotion. Johnny sings with the same amount of emoton. Everyboby knows and feels, or knows someone that knows, or feels, this way at some point.
We love your music, and your emotion that is put into your work. We look forward to more from ORPLID!!!

Hello,
first thanks for visiting our page and for the kind words. I have listened "Take Me Away" - so sad atmosphere. Reminds me to the late 60th. Its singing with great emotions and very powerful played.
Excellent !!
(your comments from august 28th is very interesting -I do not hear the similarity to the doors by my self - but you not the first one who said this :-)) )
Greetings from ORPLID

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. Although I don't know of any Blues artist that records on cylinder recording machines. In difference to " Then they go back to their cottages at Missisippi delta and listen to their phonographs by candle light. Why don't you?" Perhaps you could write "Pinetop Perkins" for one and suggest just that.
In regards to using no electricity at all, well, maybe you should do some history on the Blues using electricity for over 65 years now. Including John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and B.B. King.
In regards to your pompous statement about real Blues artists being of the Delta only, why do you list Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimmie Vaughn as influences? That seems contradictory to me, being they are Texas Bluesmen. Texas is not the Delta. Perhaps a geography lessen is in order for you.
You seem to be not even "mediocre" and "boring"because you know not even very little of the Blues. No wonder you are tired of people trying to teach you so

"Blues musicians DO play and record their instruments. Blues musicians DO NOT use canned beats, loops, drum machines." Remember this?
IMO, real blues musicians don't even use electricity, they play acoustic guitars and record their songs with Edison cylinder phonographs :-) Then they go back to their cottages at Missisippi delta and listen to their phonographs by candle light. Why don't you?
BTW, your songs are boring collections of cliches. And that applies to 90% of contemporary blues (probably mine, too).
Sorry, but I'm fed up with mediocre blues hobbyists telling people what is blues and what is not. Now I've got the blues (because of you) and who are you to tell me how to express it.

Thanks Dawn, for expressing a want to become a reviewer for us. I will certainly put a good word in for you.
Valerie, Thank you for listening and the commenting on "Take Me Away." The song can fit a lot of dire situations, for sure. I think it fits the feelings of those that are facing dire situations.

Hi Erin! Thanks for the kind comments, they are greatly appreciated. The vocalist is Johnny Mayhem, not me. I just manage this site, and help out on some others, and help out where and when I can.
