It keeps me interested in composing, and I find composing in different styles a challenge. This may change though as I progress, I may find a style of music that I love so much that I may have a hard time moving away from it."

Dev was born on the 18th of September in the year 1977, in Kolkata, to a musically affluent family. He started learning the piano at the age of 10.

At the age of 13, he joined Rock Band as a keyboard player. He also played on Pop, Rock and Fusion Band and accompanied All India. He also Learn In Piano at Trinity College of Music where he obtained a degree in Western Classical Music.
