Dear You formed in the fall of 2003 out of the ashes of Chicago mainstays Last Man Out and TwinHaters (ex-Mary Tyler Morphine). To be exact, Ross Michel (formerly of Neophyte Standing) had begun recording material for a solo project and was looking for a solid singer/guitar player. Through the grapevine, he found Eric Hausser (Last Man Out), who brought a much needed second voice to the table. Luckily, Eric had dated Jared Rohdes (TwinHaters) little sister back in high school, and he always wanted to start something with him. It was finally the time for that phone call to be made, and the core of Dear You became complete. From day one as things began to take shape, the members involved knew they had stumbled upon something special.
With ideas coming from all over the board, the creative process began. While getting used to one anothers style, it seemed as if songs just began to flow, making Ross, Jared and Eric believe that their respective ecclectic backgrounds was anything but a hurdle. It was more of a springboard, with each members musical experiences being seamlessly incorporated to create something new.
They finally stepped foot into Thrift Store Studios with new found friend and producer Drew Neely to lay down a four song demo in late February 2004, which has been more than well received by most. With an energetic and tight live performance already to boast, these first four songs shed light onto the bands one last necessity, a second guitar player to beef things up.
Thats where Dan Synnestvedt stepped up to become that fourth member of Dear You, not only completing the instrumentation, but also finishing off some much needed three part vocal harmonies. A long time friend of Ross, Dan began working hard to get in stride with the other members. Approximate time: 2 weeks.

If one thing beats true, it is their commitment to success and the continuation of doing what they love, making music.
