Dearborn High School Jazz Band
This band is not for your average musician at Dearborn High School. Students in this band are extremely talented, and they are some of our "above average musicians" at Dearborn High School. You have to be dedicated to this band definitely, or else you may get the boot! This Band is led under the direction of Mr. Jeffrey Oshnock, a very talented and esteemed Music teacher that has "been around the block" more than a couple of times, and he contributes to this band and all of the other bands here at Dearborn High School. Also, In order to be very dedicated to this particular band, you have to wake up at approx. 5:30-6:00 am, because class starts at around 6:30 am, an hour before class!!!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
The Band has played live a few times, and it is based on who gives a call to our Director. For example, in the 2005-2006 school year, the jazz band played in a library for one of the welcome centers for the 2006 Superbowl in Detroit. The band has also played for the Senior Citizens of Dearborn as well. So if we get invited, we will be there!
