I am firstly a drummer with an interest in songwriting and recording. Been playing drums from an early age, learnt guitar at high school, played in lots of different bands all over Australia as a drummer and have been writing/recording music over the last 5 years in perth WA.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Lots of bands, both original music and covers from Tamania, melbourne, Perth. Last original band I was with in perth was 'Blue Shaddy' playing alternative, funk, surf, blues and releasing two CDs with them.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, I currently play drums in a cover band called 'Infusion'. We mainly do corporate and private functions, no particularly special moments up to now, although, getting paid properly is a fairly special moment
Your musical influences
It's mostly laid back, I just record what comes out that day really, songs are often finished in a few days, that is from initial inception to a mastered product ready for upload. It is jazz influenced, 80s pop, bit of rock at times, and even instrumental movie type creations. I like recent artisits like Dave mathews, John Mayer, and also oldies like Toto, Steely Dan, Bozz Scaggs, something that grooves.
What equipment do you use?
I use a 002 digi rack using Pro Tools software on a windows based system, rhode Mics like the NT2, NT3, NT4, shure 57s, ibanez bass, pearl session series drum kit with A Custom cymbals, Fernandez semi, seagull acoustic, behringer midi keyboard with reason adapted....amongst others
Anything else?
Ummmm....well not really, I'm just on a journey with sound, trying to become more honest with the material I write and then try and craft it in to a semi-reality on my hard-drive. And, I don't own a Playstation, Nintendo or X Box.
