Dead Wood Ghost
Dead Wood Ghost is made up of Steve Glennie (guitars, vocals, songs) and Dave Wilkinson (guitars, vocals, songs) with assistance at recording stage from Stewart Argo (keyboards, drum patterns, techie stuff).
The fundamental idea behind Dead Wood Ghost (and its temporary precursor, The Johnny Mathis Fan Club) was to build a musical partnership where ideas and voices were shared to create melodic songs with some poetic depth, whilst retaining a pop sensibility.
The musical style is basically alt-country / indie with a nod to new wave, a tip of the hat to acoustic and a raised eyebrow to classic pop.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live regularly and religiously - once a year in a church hall! We hope to increase this just as soon as we learn that elusive second chord.
Your musical influences
Influences are eclectic, melodic bands like Grandaddy, Eels and Sparklehorse and great songwriters like Townes Van Zandt. Add a pinch of Lambchop, a dusting of Wilco and a generous mouthful of Scud Mountain Boys.
