DayBeforeNever

We're a duet/band from San Antonio, Texas, that plays mostly our original stuff. The band is made up of Josh on cello, and Nick on vocals and guitar. The classical/rock approach is not new, but we offer it in a different light. Our music has everything from rock, punk, and folk influences to blues, classical, and pop. We are currently working on our first CD, Salad Days, which will be available in April/May.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Josh and I met LONG ago, like in elementary school, but never really talked or hung out. We both started playing in middle school, Josh learned cello in sixth grade, and I started guitar in seventh. In high school, we met up at a party, and we started talking. He mentioned music, and then we went to his house (where he had a cello and a guitar), and we played Matchbox 20's "3 AM", for the first time. Eventually, we decided to set up some practice times, and then we got started as the newest band around!!!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, we play at churches, schools, and mostly anywhere they'll let us. Since we're just a two piece (usually, sometimes we have a drummer and a bass) we can set up almost anywhere. Our very first gig was a Christmas one, in a church, and some of the songs weren't completely finished (lyrics). We decided to play anyway, and it turned out allright, except I had to sing while reading most of the words off of a music stand.
Your musical influences
We like to guarantee that you'll like at least one song on our album, if not all. Influences may include everyone from Matchbox 20, Norah Jones, and Bach to blink 182, John Mayer, Goo Goo Dolls, Yo-Yo Ma, and Dashboard Confessionals.
What equipment do you use?
Shure microphones, Epiphone guitars, Martin guitars, Gibson guitars, Guild guitars, Taylor guitars, a $7,000 cello, and other random stuff that looks cool onstage.
Anything else?
