Real Love Real Love
This was a cover I did a couple of years ago of John Lennon's "Real Love". I wanted to upload something in tribute for his 70th birthday, and I've always loved this song. The vocals are a little rough, but I did my best. Enjoy! Happy Birthday John!

Hey there everyone! I've just set up this Sound Click account so that I can share my music with you, the listener. I'm a 20 year old solo artist who is taking off from school in order to pursue my music ambitions. I write, record, and play all of the songs myself (recording multiple tracks is time consuming and difficult, but if you keep at it, you may surprise yourself). I have finished my first album, "Apparition", and all eleven tracks are available for free download right here on my SoundClick page!. I will be posting new material from time to time as I finish it, and every now and then will be posting some covers. So, enjoy the music, download it, and let me know what you think!Band/artist history
I used to be in a band in high school, but that collapsed a year ago. However, I still jam with them. During that time, I wrote a number of songs that became part of my first compilation like "Tearing Me Up", "Soulless Heart", "With You", and "Advice for the Soul". Some of the others came later. I was eager to get something recorded, and when we got a new computer (a Mac with GarageBand), I finally had my chance. So I set to work recording my songs, playing all the instruments myself. Within four months, I completed my first 'album', "Apparition", which is available here to listen to.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have started playing at the First Friday festivities in my hometown. It's really fun to get out there and perform. I find it even more fun since I have massive stage fright. I really don't know how I do it.
Your musical influences
The Beatles and John Lennon are my biggest inspiration. They're music is timeless, and is something that I can listen to over and over again. As for my guitar playing, I style myself off of my favorite players, most of which are blues artists. Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan are my favorites, with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, George Harrison, and John Lennon mixed in. Basically, I'm a fan of rock and roll stemming from 1955 to 1980. Those are my favorite years of rock. I like the early rockers like Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Bill Haley, Elivs. I like a lot of bands from the '60s and '70s like Creedence Clearwater Revival, CSNY, The Who, Steppenwolf, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Byrds, The Rolling Stones, and much more. I also am a fan of U2, Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Green Day.What equipment do you use?
I use my Rickenbacker 350V63 the most, alternating with my Fender Strat, Ric 330, and Epiphone EJ-160E John Lennon acoustic. I also use a Vox ToneLab SE run through a Vox Valvetronix AD30 to get my tones. For bass, I use my friend's Squire Precision Bass. And for everything else (drums, keyboard), I use a 76-key Yamaha keyboard.Anything else?
Seize the day! Just follow your dreams, and you will always be happy!

david - i have to ask you what made you write the song for darfur, how you heard of darfur and learned about it. i also have to applaude you. your lyrics are inspiring and halting - i love how your vocals become stronger and stronger. you kind of go off key in certain places and get a little pitchy, but in other places sing strong and beautifully so i'll put that off to live music - it happens!
a great song david.
peace---jd
