David Edgerton

Dave Edgerton is a keyboard player, organist, arranger, and composer who loves to play music that is funky, eclectic, jazzy, and makes you want to dance. He's been playing music since an early age and is currently working on a solo project to release through this website by the end of the year. He loves using his God-given talent to help people enjoy themselves and make a difference in the world.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
David Edgerton Jr has been making music since an early age. He started playing the piano at age 3 and began arranging music for his 8th grade school band at age 13. He received a marching band scholarship and an engineering scholarship to North Carolina A&T State University. There he earned a degree in electrical engineering and a minor in music composition. While he was there he studied jazz under Dr. William Smiley, a notable saxophonist and great mentor. He also arranged popular music for the university's marching band and performed his original works in the university's first composition recital. He's currently working with local artists in the Twin Cities area and continues to write his own music. He has performed with the likes of Walter Chancellor, Timotha Lanae, and Ray Covington. He prefers playing the B3 organ and has appeared on several local CD projects.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I get opportunities to play with local musicians around the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I've played with people like Walter Chancellor, Timotha Lanae, and Ray Covington. I can be found on occasion at Jazzmines in downtown Minneapolis freelancing or playing with local talent.
