AT THE END OF YOUR ROPE...WHEN THE SWING HAS REACHED ITS ZENITH...YOU FEEL WEIGHTLESS,ALL THE WORRIES TAKEN OFF YOUR SHOULDERS, EVEN IF ONLY FOR THIS BRIEF TIME....HAVE YOU BEEN THERE?http://www.musicbuilder.com/Daves_Rope_Swing
Band/artist history
Forging a commitment to truth, trust, and justice; Daves Rope Swing are 4.
Four who thrive on a symbiotic relationship with each other and their "audience."
Beginning in 1979, brothers Mark and Chris Warren brought forth a sound that was new and misunderstood. After struggling for eight years and going through various line-ups and name changes, permanent bass player Mixhele Therese was added in 1984. In 1988, percussionist extraordinaire Rob Pearce, desiring a change from the ho-hum joined the group and the band Anderson Council was born.
The group played a multitude of clubs in and around Seattle from 1991 to 1993. Their sounds were embedded on magnetic tape at Raywatt Studios in March 1992 with Steve Raibel at the board.
In April 1993 the group parted, but only temporarily. During the break, all four band members experimented with music on their own. Rob rejoined Mark and Michelle in mid-1995 and together they formed Daves Rope Swing. The trio composed a number of new songs and earned a review of one of their home studio tapes in Seattle's The Rocket. Chris rejoined the group in January 1997, and by June they were booking clubs in Everett, Washington.
In February 1998 they began recording their first Daves Rope Swing album entitled The Porch Where Nothing Matters. The album is scheduled for release in summer '98 and is being recorded and mastered at Whiskey Ridge Studios with Mark Hibbert engineering.
Daves Rope Swing practices regularly in Everett, Washington and has occasional gigs in and around the Puget Sound area. Guests are always welcome and invited to gigs and practices. E-mail us for directions to our gigs and jam room at davesropeswing@angelfire.com.
Let it be known that while there are many, many problems in the world in which we live, we hope only to touch the awareness of all who choose to listen to our sounds. Only united as one strong, solid voice will any of us begin to change things for the better.
Peace and thanx,
Daves Rope Swing

Originating from Wichita, Kansas, Mark began playing music in school bands in the second grade. Mark wrote his first lyrics 1972, shortly after his grandpa was murdered. "I was overcome with words and thoughts; my hand took paper and pen and I began creating with words. I couldnt stop. Lost was my first song, but music wasnt written for it until August 1995."
After high school he joined the Army and played drums at garage country get-togethers, and at Wichita country bars. Both Mark and brother Chris played punk music under the name S.H.A.R.P. in 1978-1979. Back then he played a VOX Super Continental Organ and Hohner Pianet. The group dissolved up when Mark left after the birth of his son, Quinn. He started playing in a band again in 1982 under the moniker Ground Zero. For a while he played and wrote with a trombone player, but his desires to play with a band again became overwhelming.
In 1984, Mark, Mixhele, Chris, and Chris girlfriend, Mary, formed a new S.H.A.R.P. "We got good enough to play The Beer Mill, but the gig was cancelled and the band broke up in April 1985" They reformed in 86 with Mark, Chris. Mixhele. and Kelly Coyle on drums. The band played benefits at R.P.P.s Travelers Inn and Bob Shepards Waterhole, and recorded their first tape at Miller Studios. Mark says, "The tape gave me the biggest thrill of my musical life when it was played on KMUW radio in 1987." At about the same time, an assault on the band took its toll and they fragmented.
Mark and Michelle continued on in Wichita for a while after Chris moved to Seattle. But, finally succumbing to the lack of culture in Wichita, on September 12, 1988 they began their road trek to Seattle. They ended up in Everett, Washington, and finally rooted themselves three blocks from where The Accused began their career.
