Look out---- Dave Miles and the Hard Way are on the loose and set on molesting your town. Dave Miles and the Hard Way are- Dave Miles on guitar and vocals, Fish on bass and vocals, and Lincoln Harlen on drums. They have received radio airplay in Melbourne, Australia with tunes from their 2004 EP "... You and the Horse You Rode in on", and their numerous promo singles. Be prepared for a turbo-charged, diesel-fuelled rampage through rock, blues and country as The Hard Way play tunes from their EP, and their forthcoming full-length album "These Blue Miles", along with a truckload of songs from artists such as Paul Kelly, Steve Earle, The Stones, Hank Williams, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, The Clash, The Georgia Satellites, and many, many more. So bring your dancin' shoes, your best drinkin' shirt... oh, and don't forget the earplugs....
Band/artist history
This band is the result of; many years of attempting to write songs; marriage breakups; learning how to record on a computer;getting to an age where I didn't give a rat's arse if people thought my music wasn't "hip, happening and NOW". I like it, so I'll record and release it. The first part of the album (the last six songs) were recorded in 2002, on my own, as a kind of therapy to help with the end of a relationship. Yawn, I hear. The next part (The first eight songs) were recorded with the band in Melbourne, music capital of Australia. Nine songs were recorded in the first session with Lincoln and myself-- in five hours. Because we're fucking good. Fish added bass later, then guitars were overdubbed in a session in a rehearsal room. Vocals were done last. Recording took about four days of studio time. Studio.....HAH! The drums and vocals were recorded in the loungeroom of our engineer Jonnoe's house. Mixing and mastering were also done at Jonnoe's, and the herd was thinned by one, from nine to eight tracks. Funnily enough the track cut was "These Blue Miles", the title track. But it'll be on our next recording!! Good mic's and good ears; that's what you need to make a good recording. No million dollar studio bill, no cocaine rider.... just skill, balls (or ovaries!!!) and VOLUME. Dave Miles and the Hard Way (Vic) are--....................................................
