Dave Hughes
Well, I am a folk-punk singer songwriter from the West Coast of Scotland. I used to play in punk-rock bands, but now am just kinda going it alone. I write all my own material, which I beleive are pretty good!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I played in a punk rock band for about 5 years, but we split around 3 years ago now. For two years I was writing songs, playing them in my flat and stuff. My friend who works in a bar asked me if I wanted to play on a saturday night. I told him that I didn't have a band, and he said "yeah, I know". So I got up and did my solo thing, which was a bit of a train wreck. Now, however, I've learnt what not to do!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love playing live now. When I started doing this on my own, I used to get nerves like no one else. But now, I love it. And I will play anywhere that will have me as well, pubs, clubs, houseparties, BBQ's what ever!
