DAS BEN - WELLYTOWN ACOUSTIC STONKAGE THE WAY ITS MEANT TO BE!!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born and bred in Wellytown, Ben has been playing his own peculiar brand of acoustic punk around town for years and has just released his debut CD 'MILLION MILES AWAY'. This CD was produced by Wellington muso Steve Gallagher and has more 'tude than Mr T after a bad haircut. Its the aural equivalent to jumping up and down on a sunny day after lots of beer. If the Ramones played unplugged or Lou Reed smiled more, they would sound like this.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
i've assaulted venues across wellington, as well as playing New York, London, and Dunedin. I play solo, with friends, with a full band - no 2 Das Ben gigs are alike, but they're all a shiteload of fun. After playing live for years i still enjoy the 'what the $&%!?' look on people's faces when i make an unholy racket with my acoustic guitar.
