HEY THERE, DARRIN ALLEN HERE, GOOD TO HAVE YOU STOP BY AND TAKE A LISTEN TO SOME TUNES FROM BOTH MY ALBUMS. I'M WORKIN ALOT (ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR, HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING COACH, HORSE TRAINER) AND DON'T ALWAYS GET THE TIME TO RESPOND TO YOUR MESSAGES BUT SURE DO APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS! HOPE YOU ENJOY THE TUNES! I'm a 6'4" traditional country music singer/songwriter from Pocatello,Id. My latest CD "The Cowboy Way", involves an approach to writing and recording which leans on my own material with the help of some of Nashville's best writers: Hank Cochran, Red Lane, Tony Stampley, and Kirk Roth.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I am an electritian by trade and mainly sing on the side. My first CD "The Hardest Job", recorded in Nashville, was done in hurry up fashion after I discovered I had a talent. Still it sold around 3200 units to friends, relatives, and anyone from my work truck. My new release "The Cowboy Way" was also produced in Nashville with the help of Mark Dreyer and , of course, the Nashville writers I mentioned earlier. So far, the feedback has been great!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, I have played live in Nashville, Kentucky, Michigan, Utah, Oregon, and mostly in Idaho in bars and clubs. I opened for Doug Stone once. I love to sing live and I've been told by my fans that I sing even better live which was great to hear.
Your musical influences
Some of my musical infuences include George Strait, Chris Ledoux, Joe Nichols and Garth Brooks. I love fiddle and steel guitar in these artists music. In my opinion, that is what real country music is all about!
What equipment do you use?
Drums, steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin, piano/keyboard, bass guitar was incorporated into my music.
Anything else?
I hope your listeners enjoy my new CD!
