Dark Seclusion
Horror Punk from Southwest Virginia.
A street punk / hardcore vibe.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The bloody history of Dark Seclusion began in the summer of 2003. Shortly after leaving a previous band (due to unmentionable reasons), Oats and Travis began jamming and writing songs under the name Dark Seclusion. They later picked up Ben on bass. They were now almost a complete band. Except for someone to fill in on the skin duties. They had many offers for drummers and nearly accepted all. No one came out to practice or to play at all, so indeed, it was a rough start. They played their first show on halloween night of 2003. The gig was played in a haunted house, and their room was decked out as a "dead beat dance" ballroom type idea. They continued to practice and write more and more songs, gaining more popularity locally, and nationwide. They hold a strong place in their local scene. In the winter of 2003 they started recording a complete DIY EP. Shortly thereafter, they picked up Dustin to finally fill in the duties of drums. Dustin's maniacal beatings made the band complete. Ben left the band in the early weeks of march 2004 and we picked right up on Jon to fill in the bass duties. In mid-April, Oats decided to leave the band for reasons unmentioned. He is still our blood brother, and very close to us. It will be a great search to find someone to fill the spot of oats. His comedic relief and amazing guitar skills will be missed, but we will move on. One of Dustins' close relatives owns a local studio. Dark Seclusion will soon be entering the studio to complete their debut EP. (luckily and finally) The Legacy of Dark Seclusion continues!!!
