'Nuff said!
Four cats who like to kick funky jazz but with a twist. We employ a lot of Latin rhythms, modal jazz improvisation, and the violin as the lead instrument!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Newly reformed in 2003, we like to experiment with modal jazz and hip hop grooves to create a seriously funky live sound. And we spice it up with dat latin and caribean flava!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We usually play clubs in and around NYC. The next live gig is with the North Shore Health System on April 22, 2004 at 7:30pm. For more information, call (516)465-2573.
Your musical influences
Miles Davis, Michele Camillo, Meshell N'DegeOcello, George Duke, Prince meets Regina Carter hangin' out with Noel Pointer.
What equipment do you use?
D-Funk: Stradivarious copy, with a Zeta retro fit and original ZETA Jazz 5-string
Micheal: Pearl ain't bad. Gretsch is nice too! But I'm very flexible. It's all about the experience on each instrument.
Brian: Yamaha 5-string
Janet: I'm not one of those people who will run out and get hold of the "latest and greatest". I still like my old Roland D50 mainstay.
