Dan Traxler
Nominated 4 times for the Christian Country Music Association's Instumentalist of the Year, Dan Traxler brings his heritage of bayou living to the stage. Taking familiar & original tunes & converting them into a blues & country jazz fusion does not come easy for many listeners much less an artist. Dan "The Gospel Sax Man" is just suc an artist who can make those trademark black Cannonball horns moan and sing just right - summing up how you feel all while praising the Lord God!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love to play live. I have played the Grand Ol' Opry, the Ryman, dives and places that should not have been standing but the love for the music keeps me playing and the strength of the Spirit presses on. It is fantastic to play live!
Your musical influences
First and foremost would be Ace Cannon, the Godfather of Sax. Without him, there would be no Kenny G, Charlie Parker, and no Dan Traxler. Ace taught me early on how to be a professional & how to interact with the audience - to feel what they feel and to react to it.
