Hey! I'm Dan Mitchell, I've been playing the guitar for around 7 years, keys for 2 and I've recently started to write my own songs. I want to play my own songs in front of people for people who want to listen and have them sing my words. I want to try to cheer people up with my music. I want people to download my songs and sing them to themselves while they're walking down the street. Thanks for listening!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1998 - Started playing guitar
1999-2002 - Played lead guitar in a band 'False Memory'
2003 - Recorded 1st song 'Something in my Eyes'
2003 - Started playing keyboard
2005 - Play 1st solo gig
2006 - Playing open mics and singer/songwriter nights
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've played quite a few open mic and singer/songwriter nights, it's the best feeling in the world (when you get over the bone-chilling fear!!) I play on Monday nights at the Royal Oak and on Thursday nights at the Vintners Parrot (both in Worthing) Come down!
Your musical influences
I started playing guitar because of Dire Straits but my favorite band is Muse. I don't sound anything like either though! I would say I sound like David Gray, James Blunt, The Coral, The Feeling and Will Young.
What equipment do you use?
It's just me and a guitar, pure and simple. I want to introduce my Theremin into my act aswell though!
