'The Gift' is about destiny, about knowing what your life means and why you are alive.
Dan Miller is a dedicated and gifted musician from Hampton, NH and feels he is alive to bring music to the world. He's been playing guitar for over 11 years. He is strongly devoted to his music and hopes to acquire a recording contact in the near future. His influences include such notable acts as Deftones, Staind, Korn, Metallica, Creed, Testament and guitar virtuosos Marty Friedman and Jason Becker.
Dan has aimed his creative fire at a career as a solo artist after the breakup of his previous band Beautiful Madness(1992-1995) with whom he played shows at many area clubs.
After a few technical setbacks, Dan has completed his debut solo album titled 'The Gift'. The album features Dan on a 7-string ESP, plus all bass, vocal, and drum programming tracks. It is an intense blend of heavy riffs and melodic solos with honest and emotional vocals that range from a clean melodic tone to a bonecrunching distortion. On stage, Dan performs all rhythm and lead guitars and vocals to his own prerecorded drum and bass tracks while he continues to search for a live backup band.
In some recent reviews, NH tunes wrote, "The Gift is a wide-angle look at life which offers great content, originality and raw talent." And Northeast Local Rock says, "Dan Miller is a 'gifted' guitarist whose songs are moving and catchy with some nice guitar work to go with them." Boston Soundcheck says Dan "has a truly outstanding ear for melody and songcraft".
Dan has used the internet as a valuable marketing tool and has performed well in many online contests:
www.mp3.com - more than 1300 song downloads in 9 months and is featured on 13 online radio stations.
www.icast.com - after 1 month, ended up in 5th place with 793 votes and a 4.72 rating out of a possible 5.0.
