Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
J.J. and I met at a community dinner in 1997.
A mutual friend introduced us and we have been friends ever since. After we realized we played the same style of music , we became music partners and formed the Bella Rosa duo, from that day on
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We regularly play live at retirement residences for elders, in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Sometimes we also play at funerals.
We like to play live because it enables the magic of improvisation, to come true. The most recent special moment that I can remember was on Monday Aug 15,2005. We were playing at Helen's funeral. Helen was J.J.'s 40 year old step daughter, and she passed away on Aug 11th,2005, after a long battle with M.S.. On the 15th, we were also accompanied by J.J.'s Mom, Madeleine, a very good singer . We played Ave Maria (the F. schubert version) as well as Amazing Grace and The Rose. It was a special moment where it seemed that the improvisation was inspired by God and Helen. Though we had not practised much, the songs sounded beautiful !

What equipment do you use?
We like to keep the sound as accoustic as possible so we use an accoustic Guitar a Keyboard and Mikes which we play though a P.A. system.
