Dance Enforcement Authority

Welcome to the Dance Enforcement Authority (DEA) page here on Soundclick! DEA records exclusively for SonicShock Records based out of NJ. DEA is a virtual band. There are 5 members, only one of whom is "real". Sempai-Ichi is the founding member. The music is designed to get your toe tappin', your butt movin', and your body swayin'. Have a listen!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The band started in 2002 and started planning for the CD in 2003. The first release will be available by the end of the year (2003).
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Never. Why should anyone leave their home or car just to watch some buttons and keys being pressed? Besides, no one wants to see me. They only wanna hear the music, right? All the songs on the first CD are instrumentals, and can be used as background or supplementary music for any media project. Anyone who wants to enjoy DEA's music on their own can download the songs to get a taste. Of course, if you want the highest quality or want to license the music, you'd have to get the CD. Contact us at: sempai@comcast.net if you want information on licensing from SonicShock Records. You can also stop by www.sonicshockrecords.com
Your musical influences
Musical influences are almost anything with a good beat and is easily danceable (is that a word?) It crosses basic genres like Rock, R&B, Techno, Metal. All those styles and more are represented, sometimes even crossed mixed in the same song. I try not to limit myself with boundaries when I write. Have a listen for yourself.
What equipment do you use?
All loops are from my little project studio or various royalty free sources. Basic equpiment is a Yamaha Motif 7 fully loaded...and quite dangerous! Reason & Project 5 are used for the synth work. Ozone is my application of choice for mastering the final mixes. Sonar is used for all recording with Kontakt as a sampler. My DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is an AMD 2100+ with 1 gig MB of RAM. I also use an Edirol 50 key midi controller for the soft synths. Is that enough technical nerdy stuff for you?
Anything else?
There are a couple of projects in the works but they aren't finalized so I won't post anything just yet. Don't wanna jinx anything, ya know?
