Dan Brown
My music is guitar-oriented rock, folk rock, psychedellic rock, jam band, new age instrumental, acoustic, singer-songwriter... Basically just whatever I feel like doing at the moment. I'm not striving for consistency, or a "brand", so much as just expressing the music that is floating around in my consciousness (or wherever these ideas come from).
I'm putting the music on this site for the purpose of sharing ideas and collaborating with other musicians. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!Band/artist history
I learned to play guitar as a kid growing up in the small town of Bethany, CT, but didn't really get into it until I was an adult, and living in the "Live Music Capitol of the World": Austin, TX!
There are a few friends that I've played with over the years, and who play on my recordings. I played a few gigs with a garage band I fronted called "Samadhi" many years ago, but we've been pretty much inactive as a gigging live band for some time now. So these days my main creative outlet is recording in my little home studio, and informal jams with friends and an ever-growing list of new musical collaborators.Have you performed in front of an audience?I periodically get together with friends and new contacts to have jam sessions. The format of these sessions changes depending on who shows up, and what combination of instruments we have. I try to record these sessions, and when I find material worth sharing, I will post it to my music page. Most of this material is unrehearsed, first-take, live jams.
Your musical influences

Cool song, nice guitar and vocals...I just got done listening to the inspiration....Shady Grove....on the newer Mudcrutch cd, with Petty on it. Always liked that song. Nice production, nice clean sound and mix, great job! ~strummergurl~
