Dal Riada is the name of an ancient Irish tribal kingdom that extended from the north Antrim coast to the western Isles of Scotland. The music of the band reflects this historical connection with a mix of well known Irish folk songs, Irish and Scottish reels and jigs and modern Irish ballads. Based in Belfast the present line up formed in the summer of 06. All three members are seasoned musicians, well known on the Irish music circuit having played in many other traditional, folk and celtic rock bands in past years.
