Dalmaine
Dalmaine a band approaching the perfect mix of slow burning anthems and off kilter guitars topped off with haunting vocal melodies that nestle in your brain.
By placing the instruments in their best possible space it is possible to create mood and to stir the emotion. You hear the songs but - more importantly - you feel the songs.
Fans of expressive, intelligent, experimental melodic music will not be disappointed
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Dan Monks Vocals/ Guitar
Calvin Talbot Guitars/ Synths
Steve Bell Bass/ Vocals
Martin Maidment - Drums/ Vocals
The musical scope of the past is varied (Eighth Day, Radon Daughters, Copter) more than reflected in the songs. At once haunting but pretty. Strangely threatening yet comforting.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Play live as much as we can or until people get sick of us.
Mainly Bristol in the UK though we are tentatively spreading our wings, building up confidence...
Your musical influences
Everything from avant garde (Animal Collective...) to Krautrock (Can, Neu, Armon Dul...) Stadium Prog (Yes, ELP oh dear!) to electronica (Black Box recorder, Autechre)
A nice mix eh?
What equipment do you use?
Wood generally, with a bit of metal
Anything else?
Let us know what you think... we'd be interested.
