Founded in June 1997, DAGORLAD is a Dark Atmospheric Metal project.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The first demo called On the Moonless Nights was sent to various labels in order to get a deal. The band was finally signed on TWO MOONS (The Netherlands).
The first album, entitled Incantations and released in February 1999, is a storm of raw Dark metal embellished with soundtracks atmospheres. The inspiration for the lyrics has been taken from horror movies from the thirties and from heroic-fantasy novels. This album was recorded in the studio of the band (LUNA MORA ) and remastered in Q-POINT studio (Hilversum, The Netherlands).
Released in February 2000, The Warriors of the Ancient Battle is the second demo of the band consisting of five songs with a dark medieval atmosphere. This demo made a very good impression in metal magazines (see Press section). Our last album was entitled The End of the Dark Ages, a concept album containing ten heroic fantasy songs. This home studio project was recorded during winter 1999-2000 + july-october 2000 and mixed during november 2000.
The beautiful sleeve, was created by the famous belgian designer Kris VERWIMP who in particular made album covers for THYRFING, SEAR BLISS, ABSU, ...
Now, we are already preparing new songs for a following Medieval Metal Opus and looking for a new record label...
