A gifted writer/artist since grade school, hip-hop began to win Tone Hayez over in 2000. He started out emulating the juggernaut formerly known as Cash Money, Eminem, and Lil Bow Wow (since they were only a year apart in age). Upon his arrival in high school, his ear, as well as content, shifted back East, when he "discovered" Nas. After a short stint in college, he went on hiatus during his first stay in Memphis. He found himself back home in 2006, however, after his plan to join the military fell through. In March of '08, he hooked up with M.B.K, a group comprised of high-school friends Triz and Full Clip. Now back in the Bluff City, dH is looking to make his presence known.......
Band/artist history
"It's the formula. You get these created artists and these manufactured singles, and it's kind of annoying because everybody does the same thing. These A&Rs search for this face, get them in the studio, make them make this single with this producer, have this dude write it, and yada, yada, yada. It seems like everybody is finding a way to grab these formulas and duplicate them over and over. Maybe in a couple of months, labels are gonna start looking for some dudes like us and make a formula out of us." -Mikey Rocks of The Cool Kids, THE SOURCE, July 2008 David Hayes has never been a big fan of "formulas". Whether being born and raised in the go-go-heavy Washington, DC area or living on Memphis' southside, the young man known as dH always did his own thing. Music proves to be no exception. Although he was gifted in writing and drawing from an early age, hip-hop began to win him over in 2000. Upon his arrival in high school, dH began hanging out at the lunchroom cyphers, although he was too shy to partake in it himself. He often stayed up in the wee hours of the morning writing. During his senior year, he and classmate Da Pharmacist briefly formed the Conscience Killas, but college plans sent them their separate ways. After a short stint in school, dH went on hiatus during his first stay in Memphis. He found himself back in Maryland in 2006, however, after his plan to join the military fell through. In March of '08, he finally came back to music. Under the moniker D'vyne Conceptz, he hooked up with M.B.K, a group comprised of high-school friends Triz and Full Clip. dH also had a budding acting career, having appeared in several plays and films in the Baltimore/DC area. Most recently was a small role in the independent film "Breaking Down", set to debut in 2009.
