Cutthroat Dreams

Founded in 2004, 4 guys set out to create the heaviest songs they could, bringing together melodic guitar harmonies and solos intertwined with brutal breakdowns and then topped with vicious vocals. Bass and Drums are indeed included. By the way, we are looking for another guitarist, so if you like what you hear and are dedicated then contact us.

In the beginning, the year 2000, most of the members of Cutthroat Dreams bought their first instruments. Drew an Abilene Fender-ish type guitar, Colby a Fretless 4-string bass from a three fingered stoner, and Dan bought his drum kit the summer after. No one knows for sure when Justin bought his first guitar, but we do know that he bought his first microphone in 2004. About 2 weeks after Dan aquired his kit, all but Dane(previous guitarist) and Justin were in a band with a local singer named Shane, who sounded like a bad version of Kurt Cobain, along with another guitarist named Dustin. Needless to say they sucked. About four practices later they broke up. Shane, Drew, and Colby left and began their own project, leaving Dustin to himself and Dan to continue practicing. Dan and Dane later formed a band together, and Shane, Drew, and Colby's band dissapated. In early 2001 Colby and Drew formed a band with Drew's 2nd cousins Brandon (Drums), and Justin (guitar [current singer]), friends Clay (Vocals), and Todd (Vocals), They played a few venues, playing cover songs, but that band slowly faded away a year and a half later. Meanwhile, Dan and Dane found another guitarist named Will. That band lasted a while, and later a singer/Bassist named Brad asked Dan to play drums for his punk band, Will was also in this band. After a few practices Brad just stopped showing up, and that was the end of that. Following Drew and Colbys departure from the cover band they formed another band with Todd, a guitarist named Stefen, and a very talented drummer named Tyler. They had a couple of original songs with some covers. Eventually, everyone decided to let Stefen go, so it became just those four. It lasted for about a year, and then Tyler and Todd had to leave for personal reasons, leaving Colby and Drew alone once again. Shortly after the break up, Colby joined Dan, Dane, and Will's group. After a few weeks Colby, Dan, and Dane grew tired of Will's strange personality, so they stopped telling him about practice. The remaining members jammed for a while, until a guitarist named Cody joined. Following a few uncomfortable practices, Cody was left out. Drew was aquired by the group shortly after Cody's departure. Up until the summer of 2004, the band was only instrumental. Until Justin contacted the band about wanting to be in a band. He wanted to play guitar, but the band already had two guitarists. They asked him if he wanted to sing and he said yes. They later had to let Dane go. Jap (the most recent ex-guitarist) was aquired February of 2005 and then he left in March of 2005. They were down to four members again, and that is how the line up that is now known as Cutthroat Dreams came together. They have been together for nearly a year -working on only original material. Drew has composed 11 songs, and is continuing to write new material. Dan and Colby make the songs complete and Justin is writing lyrics.They now play 8 of the 11 songs as a band, and they continue to modify them. Who knows what the future will hold for "Cutthroat Dreams".
