A new band out of Chicago, Cú Roí plays traditional Irish tunes and pieces as well as modern arrangements of traditional tunes. Formerly students and teachers of the Academy of Irish Music, the members of Cu Roi started their own band in 2005 under the Academy, called pléráca. Soon after releasing a self-titled album, the group graduated the Academy to become an independent band, Cu Roi.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we play locally in Chicago, but have toured in around the midwest, in NY, and in Ireland.

Traditional Irish music, as well as modern arrangements of traditional tunes, and new compositions. We also have some new arrangements of ancient lyrics put to original music.
