CRYSTAL CAMERON
Crystal Cameron was blessed with the gift of music. Her talent exhibited itself to others by age six. Time and experience increased Crystals desire to perform in talent shows, churches, and local venues. By the age of thirteen, a talent agency opened the doors for her to continue developing her God-given talents. As Crystals endowed abilities continued to unfold, she wrote and arranged music in SAGE, a high school band, where she performed in clubs and other special events. It was apparent that God had expectations and specific plans for her life.
In 1999, Crystal left her hometown in Claysburg, PA and ventured by faith to Dallas, TX. With a pure gut feeling that what lies ahead would be life changing. She completed an album and appeared on several television shows: WB33, Dallas Entertainment, and the Darryl Johnson Show. Making this leap in her career only helped mold her into a strong, independent, God-fearing woman with a dedication to make a difference in other peoples lives through the vehicle of music. My dream is not to just touch one culture, one religion, or one ethnicity, but through the spirit of music, touch one world. My music is now no longer something that I do, it is something that I am.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, I perform anywhere I can. I want to not restrict my audience to just one type of crowd or place because I would be restricting my ministry. My sound is appealing to both secular and christian and I really would like to shed some light on the dark places and I can not do that in one setting.
Your musical influences
Some of my greatest influences have been Brian McKnight, Alicia Keys, Nicole Mullens, Kirk Franklin, Mana, Ben Harper, Rusted Root, Mary Mary. I love so many different styles coming from playing in an alternative band to now singing Urban Contemporary and being influenced by latin music also. I think you are able to hear a slight influence of all when you listen to my songs in which I think it makes it more appealing to a greater number of people which makes my ministry more effective.
Anything else?
The name of my upcoming album is called "CRYSTALLYZED". This album telling a story of how our lives literally have to be broken down and/or crystallyzed into pieces to be able to be molded back into the people that we are destined to be but it is a process, and without struggles or trials or hardships in life we possibly might never be broken enough to push us to our knees, and with that we find the true meaning of what we were created to be.
