Cruelty Pageant

A Portland, Oregon area Goth band.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Cruelty Pageant was formed in 1998 by Carroll D. Kraston. The name being inspired by Antonin Artaud's "Theatre Of Cruelty", Cruelty Pageant's "Glam Noir" sound is heavily influenced by(but not limited to) 80s Goth (Siouxsie, Cure, Joy Division/New Order, Christian Death, etc) and 70s Glam (T. Rex, Bowie, Roxy Music, etc), with melodic basslines that are reminiscent of Joy Division and The Cure, as well as dark, moody sequences.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Currently, Cruelty Pageant exists solely as a "studio project", but in the near future, there are plans to expand to a live band that will both challenge and entertain audiences, partially inspired, of course, by Artaud's notions of theatre.
Your musical influences
Cure, Joy Division/New Order, Bauhaus, Christian Death, David Bowie, Skinny Puppy, and many more.
What equipment do you use?
Cheap stuff.
