Born in Latacunga, Ecuador this fresh new duo “CRK” is a hot comet of rhythm and dynamic energy making their mark in a genre that broke all geographical barriers. Formerly known as “Imperio Extremo” Roderick Ascazubi and Cristian Ascazubi (nineteen and twenty years old respectively), had the unique opportunity to fuel the expanding elements of reggaeton in their native country, from singing at local bars to opening Hector y Tito’s concert in front of 20,000 people. In 2004 these two brothers decided to take their career to the next level by migrating to reggaeton’s second home New York City, an approach which allowed them to fuse their original style with the insightful influences of a city that embraces reggaeton not only as a musical potential but also as a culture. In 2006 with a new name and fresh new ideas LIL “C” AND “RK”’ latest work became a clear example of their maturity as artists; in works such as “Ella es para mi” and “Pow Pow”, they have been able to gain respect from local reggaetoneros. Their performances at “Dolphins” and “El Rumbero” confirmed the duo’s appeal to the public and local friends for the most part, but a breakthrough in their career took place when they auditioned at LA KALLE’s reggaeton showcase showdown, where they were chosen out of a massive group of 100 participants, they were able to perform in CLUB “T” along the best reggaeton artists in the tri-state area. CRK now makes a name of itself in the reggaeton medium, there is no doubt about it, they will be appearing in the tv show “FLOW LATINO” where the host Raul Cela, was amazed by their talent, he offered the duo to be part of “ LOBO RECORDING STUDIOS” where artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony , and 50 cent have previously recorded. CRK’s evolution is clearly portrayed in their latest single “YO SE” a track which not only shows their lyrical versatility, but also their vocal abilities.
