CREAM Alchemist
The goal with C.R.E.A.M is to always make something that you'll be proud of and won't have any hesitations playing for someone. I used to just make tracks and then think about who would sound good on it. Now its more of getting the best between the acapella and the instrumental.
So that the music will not be only beat driven but working in harmony with the artist voice to get the best kind of music achievable.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Have been producing music for over 2 years, it has been more of a hobby then a profession.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Local hype currently, circulating mixtapes.
Your musical influences
Jedi Mind Tricks, EMPD, Ras Kass, Dead Prez, Black Star, Nas, NWA, Public Enemy, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Jean Grae, Immortal Technique, Slick Rick, Tribe Called Quest, Afu Ra and Tupac.
What equipment do you use?
I just make beats with a lot of records and an MPC-2000XL. I keep it real basic. You have to have your little Pro Tools and Sony Acid Pro set-up so you can drop your tracks out. I have a Motif keyboard also. I keep it real simple when it comes to equipment and most my stuff is software orientated.
Anything else?
You have to keep your ear to the street and know what's hitting everywhere. You have to always stay grinding and you have to stay making beats constantly. You don't become a doctor after one year of medical school. It's a steady process and you have to keep moving up. You have to constantly make beats and stay practicing.
