Corey Payette was born in a small northern town on Lake Temiskaming, Canada. Since he was a little boy, he always had a great interest in music. At the very young age of twelve, he experienced his first taste of performing in front of a public audience. Since then, he thrives on the thrill and rush of performing, becoming a tireless performer.
Beginning in choirs as a soloist, Corey felt as though he had so much more to offer. He quickly moved on to participating and winning countless competitions. He would travel from event to event during the summer and occasionally during the school year merely to perform and master his craft.
At the early age of thirteen, he co-wrote and recorded his very first song (which was featured on a local CD compilation). Since then, his musical career has taken major steps forward. Over this past school year while continuing his musical studies in Ottawa, he has had the opportunity to perform solo at Parliament in the Senate and recently at the National Arts Centre.
Last year while performing at the local Temiskaming Music Festival, he had the opportunity to meet his adjudicator, Victoria Gilbert Mendes (who just so happened to not only be an adjudicator and voice teacher but also a record producer).
Teaming up with Victoria and her affiliated connection at Indigo Records, Corey was given the opportunity to record TWO Broadway classics on the CD compilation entitled "SHOWTIME III" (Indigo Records). He was featured singing "Stars" from the musical Les Misérables and "Somewhere" from West Side Story.
Corey expressed to Victoria his desire of excelling and succeeding with his singing. Feeling that he had the ability and sparkVictoria put together a master plan. The plan entailed recording a full debut album consisting of some classical pieces, Broadway Showtunes & one original piece (entitled "Let Me Fall for You"). This project was entitled "Broken Vow"-Coreys debut CD album (Indigo Records)
"Broken Vow" was released on August 21, 2004 -the night of his debut Solo Concert at the prestigious Toronto Heliconian Hall, on Hazelton Lanes. On this remarkable evening, Corey performed to a select audience an enchanting program to celebrate and promote his debut CD.
After this event, Corey has plans to perform a solo concert at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa as well as work on a second album consisting of only originally written songs.

Nice voice, Corey. "Let Me Fall For You" showcases your strength, which is simply the clarity of a really good voice, though there are a few slight control issues (SLIGHT). Doesn't detract from that fantastic voice though. Keep up the great songwriting too! VERY nice tune & lyrics. Will listen to more of you.
Cheers~
You sing very,very,very good...
You WILL go far...
Best regards
Johannes
