COMMON PLACE BK

The story of Common Place began in 1999. Over the years there were many different faces and styles, but the surviving duo was Danny Axel & Victor Murygin. In the summer of 2004, they added Chris Fox
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Son of an artist and a singer, Danny Axel’s influences span from Led Zeppelin and U2 all the way to Portishead and God Lives Underwater. By the age of 14 Danny was singing in his first band, Broken Flame. The flame died quickly, but in late 1999 he met Vic. Axel’s use of experimental tunings fit perfectly with Vic's hard-edged, well-balanced metal sound. Murygin discovered music in his teens and was heavily influenced by the metal scene. Shortly after he bought his first guitar, he found musical companions Danny was the first of the three. A self-motivated perfectionist who never settles for "good enough,” Murygin contributes a bold style to the group. Longtime friend, Chris Fox, finally joined CP in May ‘04. He currently plays in a number of side projects, including August on Sunday, Jesus Orphan and backing former-solo-artist David Aaron. CP would undoubtedly be lacking without Fox’s rhythms. In 2004, the band recorded "To Feel This Way" sans Fox and Olvera. Still, it is a solid record that is available FREE upon request.
