In late November, as the year 2002 was coming to an end, the Reston-based rock quartet Common Effect put together their final, solid lineup. Shortly afterward, the band arranged new songs for their self-financed EP entitled "Instinct of the Moment," released March of the next year. Their energetic performances have been essential in the formation of a strong and growing fan base. CEs distinct sound is a result of hard work, along with influences such as Thrice, Deftones, and Glassjaw.
