Commissary
to be a minister/lyricist/poet for Him, and to antagonize all of the sin and evil in today's world. I don't mean to sound like a superhero, because I'm not. But until His soon return, that's what I am going to do. The enemy will not get the best of me as long as God is on my side. But if the Father has other plans for me or decides to lay me down in green pastures earlier than I had expected, continue to spread His Word. Do whatever it takes to spread the Gospel and Good News of the Father if I'm not able to...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The only bright side of high school seemed to the be the wide variety of girls and his close peers who were rappers and often showcased their skills. So in the ninth grade, which was the summer of 2000, Commissary, then known as only "T," thought that he'd give rap a chance. T and his rap partner, C, auditioned for the school's annual spring compilation album, which provides good quality music from students who are aspiring artists in various genres, but were rejected, due to their lack of experience, and then, talent. T accomplished nothing but recording a few terrible quality tracks and scoring a fluke Internet record deal. But one day, God started to speak to T, who eventually became the Commissary we know today. God took total control, and Commissary discarded his old, meaningless lyrics, and was "reborn" as an artist and as a Christian lyricist.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, I perform at various places like churches, clubs, talent showcases. I love ministering through music and performing! One special moment was when my boy, Through Hymm and I had Thrill Da Playa from the 69 Boyz, who hit it big in the mid-90's with "Tootsie Roll", all into our set and bobbin' his head. Another special moment was when two old ladies were getting down and dancing during my performance.
Your musical influences
My boy Rob, Through Hymm, Irv, Ambassador, Da' T.R.U.T.H., Japhia Life, and TK are the only human influences on my music. 2Pac, Kanye West, and Jay-Z contributed in the past. Although my style is completely different from theirs, I highly respect them as people and artists, and look up to all of them.
