Welcome to Colder Than Yesterday's mp3 page.. CTY was a musical project between fornever's Joshua Heinrich and musician Eric Loftis that combines electronic dance and industrial elements with art rock and ethereal styles to create interesting and emotional songs.
Band/artist history
Colder Than Yesterday formed in Spring 1999 after Eric Loftis heard some material by Joshua Heinrich's solo project, fornever, and was impressed. Josh agreed to start a musical project with Eric, and Colder Than Yesterday was born. After Josh worked on several demos, technical problems at Eric's studio made long distance collaboration impossible and Colder Than Yesterday broke up in October 1999. Josh continued with his other projects (fornever, Orangabelle 5, and entreat) while Eric went on to form Terminal Down. In April 2000, after Josh remixed a Terminal Down track for Eric, Eric decided to disband Terminal Down. Colder Than Yesterday reformed.. Taking on a new industrial/dance form, Colder Than Yesterday began work on a debut album, "Memories Like Tears", released November 14th 2000. In 2001, Colder Than Yesterday began work on a remix EP called Synaptic Relapse. After a year of various problems and the barely-started EP laying stagnant, Colder Than Yesterday once again officially called it quits. However, mere months later, the band reformed, and began work on their 2nd full-length album. This was not to be, though, and the band broke up for good in the midst of writing and recording demos for the new album.
