Code Rad
Code Rad is an eight piece ska/punk/funk band started up at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Code Rad used to be called Urban Lunchmeat, and had a questionable slogan "we sound better than we taste". While they originally started up as a Reel Big Fish cover band, they later focused on lead singer Ben Pernick's originals as well as revamped ska versions of popular songs such as Iron Man, Dammit, Blister in the Sun, and Killer Tofu. They won second place at Brandeis University's battle of the bands, missing 1st place by just 4 votes (and 4 of the band members forgot to vote).
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yeah, we've played at coffeehouses on the Brandeis University campus, but we prefer to play at wild parties.
