Code Mango is a one-man electronic project that creates unique electronic music for an audience seeking something new.Band/artist history
Code Mango is the electronic moniker of Chicago-born, raised and based Manny Gomez, underground personality and sideman. After years of sporadically playing in short-term garage rock and bar bands in the final decade of the 20th century, Mr. Gomez was greeted unexpectedly one day in the dawn of the 21st century by mysterious electronic music gods who obtained secret information from an unknown source about his latest period of musical inactivity and ordered him to acquire music software, a musical direction and a new digital identity.
14 albums and several contributions to compilation and soundtrack albums later, Code Mango has seen several albums making their way into numerous annual Top 100, 200 and 500 best-of lists in indie community and music publications such as the Village Voice, Le Voz of Chicago, Windy City Music and Underground Chicago. Other Code Mango music can be found on featured sites such as MySpace.com, TagWorld, Pure Volume, Acid Planet, Acid Flag Records, Tapegerm and many others.
2006 continues with an everchanging workland and prospective future material from Code Mango. Other future plans include re-releasing the Omnitrax Recordings catalog of previous releases in MP3 album format. So check your MP3 store in the future. In layman's terms: listeners beware!
(And yes, Mr. Gomez still plays rock when his services are needed).Have you performed in front of an audience?Because the music is done by one individual, it would be impossible to recreate and perform live.
