Circus Of Dead Squirrels
CODS was created by Ripchord, NTL, and Von Boc in 2001. The collaboration was highly influenced by industrial bands like KMFDM, Ministry, and Nine Inch Nails. The first independent release entitled, "Indoor Recess" was released in January 2004 on ForaNatioN. It features 10 tracks and was engineered, mixed, and co-produced at Slaughterhouse recording studio by Mark Alan Miller (Out Out, Metropolis Records). After an extremely positive reaction from the public, they made the crucial decision to form a solid live band and take the music to the highest levels of success. CODS has grown into a full lineup of excellent, devoted musicians who all actively involve themselves with the writing of songs. "Outdoor Recess" (remix album of "Indoor Recess") was released in September 2005. It features 15 tracks which were remixed by members of CODS and other bands and artists that they have become friends with along the way. They are searching for the right record label to help further their success. CODS are currently working on "CODS 2" and will be releasing the album in late 2006, so keep an eye out for updates by checking right here at Myspace or the official website, www.circusofdeadsquirrels.com.

Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live as much as we possibly can, and we love it! Most of our shows in the past have been at the Webster Theatre in Hartford, CT opening for such bands as Otep, KMFDM, Bile, Powerman 5000, Dope, American Head Charge, and Pigface. Currently we are now starting to book shows at other venues in CT as well as in MA and RI. For people around the New England area, look for us this summer at places like Toad's Place (New Haven, CT), Fat Cat (springfield, MA), Jarrod's Place (Attleboro, MA), and Pearl St. (Northampton, MA), Rox's The Rock Shop (Oxford, MA), Saints Hall (Adams, MA) just to name a few. We've had special moments at every show we've played, because we've gotten to meet our fans and make new ones as well. We really enjoyed playing the KMFDM show, they were absolutely cool as hell, and have always been one of our biggest influences.
Your musical influences
Bands such as KMFDM, NIN, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Dimmu Borgir, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Ministry, GWAR, Billy Idol, Beck, Moby, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, Slipknot, Sepultura, Marilyn Manson, Fear Factory, Green Jelly (Jello) Cradle of Filth, Alice in Chains, The Kovenant, Peter Gabriel, and Crash Test Dummies were main influences on our first record. The new members have added even more diversity.
KMFDM hired Ren and Stimpy, Trent Reznor with a sense of humor, the soundtrack to the Muppet's remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
What equipment do you use?
We write and record using programs such as ProTools and Sonar. We've mostly worked with Yamaha keyboards and workstations, but recently have incorporated Roland and Korg.
