Nick Gordon is a multi-instrumentalist, taking lessons on trumpet, drums, accordian, piano and guitar. Nick settled on guitar and has established himself as a world class blues guitarist. Nick has fronted a variety of bands and has played extensively around his hometown of Ventura, California. Nick has also played many local festivals and has been an opening act at the Ventura Theater for some big name acts like John Mayall, Jimmy Van Zandt and White Lion. Nick has also appeared on live radio on KCSB in Santa Barbara which included a live on-the-air performance. Nick's latest project is his debut CD with 13 original songs, all written by Nick and 2 co-written by T Bone. Nick plans on touring extensively abroad to promote the new CD. These songs were heavily influenced by 70's & 80's rock bands with plenty of hot guitars and references to Sex, Drugs & Rock n Roll. Blues are prominent in the music as well as country with a little bit of Funk thrown in. The album also features a beautiful semi-acoustic ballad called "Baltimore" (play it above). Nick prides himself on his live performances, carefully choosing the very best musicians. So look forward to getting blown away at a Chronic Blues Party show near you soon. Nick promises to deliver the fattest grooves and hottest guitar licks, keyboard and harp resulting in a mind blowing musical experience. Nick is a staunch Patriot and supporter of his country. He is very proud to be an American and is very concerned about the U.S. Troops fighing terrorism abroad. Chronic Blues Party also has a mascot. He is Nick's badass little Rat Terrier named Napoleon. We'll have pictures of him up soon. Do yourself a favor and get on the Chronic Blues Party bandwagon and mailing list so you won't miss out on a single minute of Chronic.
Local guitar legend Roby Duron has been wowing audiences around the L.A. area for more than a decade. Roby is easily one of the hottest guitarists in the country with his incendiary blues rock guitar attack and world class stage personality. He was really able to add the guitar punch Nick was looking for on the album. Nick invited Roby to Produce, play multi-instruments, sing back-up and help shape the overall sound of the album. Roby is involved with many projects and is a huge asset to any artist. The Legendary T-bone Steak really knows how to "cut heads", when it comes to blues harmonica. His playing alternates between classic William Clarke style riffs to explosive high end speed runs ala John Popper. T-bone has been performing live and in the studio with Nick for years, opening live shows for the likes of John Mayall and many other well known artists. T-bone is a prolific song writer and co-wrote two of the songs on the album which are "The Wheel", and "Hellhounds". Playing drums on the Chronic Blues Party album was none other than the master himself, Ruben Duarte. Ruben has toured the country with Tito Jackson and has established himself as one of the best drummers in the area. Nick especially likes Rubens musical skills on his Paiste ride symbol, and his sure and firm kick along with his impeccable sense of timing. John Greathouse lays down the grooves on the Hammond b-3, nord, piano and clavenet. John is a world class pro and his influence is heard throughout the entire album. John has toured the world and has amassed numerous album credits as well as being a composer for television. On bass guitar we have the living legend Rick Reed. Rick is really part of the story of the blues. He recorded and toured extensively with the legendary William Clarke. He has toured the world too many times to count and has many, many album credits. Rick has performed live with Nick for the past year at a variety of local shows. Rick is the master of the blues and really makes the album groove. We actually recorded the album in Ricks own recording studio, "The Blues Bunker".
