Chromatics - The Caribbean's Best MC

CHROMATICS (The science of colors) Born in 1982 in St Joseph, Trinidad & Tobago to a British mother and Trinidadian father of East Indian decent, Richard Chromatics Raj-Kumar emerged into a world of music that reflected his diverse upbringing. He was introduced to Hip-Hop by a cousin in 1990, and this marked the beginning of his career. Lionel Richie, Julio Iglesias, Gypsy kings, heavy doses of Reggae and the Calypsos of his homeland all influenced his musical style. He first started writing rhymes in1994 and continued to develop as an artist. He released the hit single Start it! in June 2003, which was the number one requested song in the country for two months. His music is energetic, ethnic and heart felt, with a Caribbean flavour yet stamped with the approval of hip-hop. The unique style of his local tongue fused with a hardcore east coast influence all mesh to form a signature sound like nothing heard in hip-hop to date. His onstage presence is that of a veteran and he has performed at numerous venues in the Caribbean, the United States and England.
