Christopher Almada was born September 21st, 1989 in San Jose, California. He began playing the alto saxophone in elementary school and it quickly developed into a deep passion of his. By the age of twelve Christopher Almada was studying the jazz idiom in middle school. Endless hours spent wood-shedding paid off for Christopher when he received a scholarship to attend the Stanford Jazz Workshop at the age of thirteen. Christopher returned to the Stanford Jazz Workshop the following year by means of yet another scholarship.
In 2005, Christopher Almada began studying saxophone with Fred Rast. Along with instructing him, Fred Rast makes Christopher Almadas custom mouthpieces for alto and tenor saxophone.
